1. Critiquing Humanistic Psychology

With any theoretical approach there are perceived strengths and accompanying weaknesses.  As a clinical psychologist, my approach to psychotherapy is at its most basic, is to help the client increase his/her agency. . . .behavior change. Now behavior change can be that which is directly observable or internally held beliefs/constructs that are likely no longer adaptive.  As such my approach is evidenced based.  Clients are paying for help, not just talk.

While there are attractive aspects of HP there are limitations.  Attached is an article that critiques the HP to therapy.  What do you think? 

2. Carl Rogers

I asssume somewhere along your educational experience (at least for those psych majors) you have seen the “Gloria” therapys sessions with Fritz Perls, Carl Rogers, and Albert Ellis.  If not, it is worth watching because you see three famous therapists working with the same client (a nice controlled session!) for comparison.
